i would suggest fooling around with presets and drum loops, i use FL Studio as well, but i have no muisc up on NG ....
and its realy hard to explain exactly how to use it

yeah I did a couple of tutorials that helped allot I sorta submitted a 14 second loop!

Click on a bunch of squares that you see in the window in front of you (the pattern)
Then right click on each of the boxes beside all the squares, and click "send to piano roll". Then when you're in the piano roll looking at the green bars, click on the top left corner wrench. Click randomize. Voila! Beautiful musics!

well. It took me about 3 years to get good with FL. I started off by just reading the manual, then I fooled around with presets n stuff. The only pointers I could give are more advanced, and probably wouldn't help you out since your a beginner.
